Research interests

                I am an evolutionary ecologist interested in identifying the biological processes which shape the diversity and distribution patterns of plants, with special emphasis in those of conservation concern. Understanding these processes has a special meaning in the current climate change scenario as they do not only allow us to interpret the past and present of the species but, also help us to infer their possible future behavior. Currently, I am involved in a project (with Eva Wolf) which tries to elucidate the mechanisms behind the ecological speciation and parallel evolution related to cold adaptation in the non-model genus Cochlearia.
