Spatial Omics Lunch Seminar

Origins

As a group of labs working on wet-lab and computational spatial omics labs, we wanted to regularly bring the spatial omics community in and around Heidelberg together. The main aim is to provide a frequently recurring platform to promote networking and scientific exchange and oster collaboration across institutes and research areas. The seminar series is currently jointly organized between the Velten, Shapiro and Tanevski lab.

Scope

The seminar is specifically meant to cover all areas of spatial omics research form. Past talks have ranged from single-slice multi-omics analytics through computational pipelines and spatial statistics all the way to spatial-omics-driven cancer research.

Format

The seminar is held quarterly schedule at the Centre for Organismal Studies (INF 230) and follows a format that combines informal flash talks with round-table discussions, fostering networking and the exchange of ideas among participants.

At the same time, we remain open to hosting informal in-depth presentations. If you would like to share significant progress in your research in a more detailed and informal setting, please do not hesitate to let us know.

The presentations are not expected to showcase fully polished, publication-ready results. Rather, we encourage the sharing of ongoing research, preliminary findings, and work in progress in an open and informal atmosphere.
